Soulja Boy’s foray into gaming has quickly come to a halt.
The 28-year-old had recently launched a “SouljaGame” handheld device and gaming console, both of which are no longer available for purchase.

The “Crank That” rapper recently tweeted: “I had to boss up, I didn’t have a choice.” The statement seems to reference the pulled products.
The main issue surrounding emulator gaming systems is that they look and function like name-brand consoles, and have the ability to play name-brand titles – all without a licensing agreement. Despite the presence of this kind of copyright infringement, Soulja Boy defended his products in a series of tweets.
He asserts that Nintendo licensed the rights to their popular titles, however, this doesn’t seem to be the case. The “SouljaGame” website now redirects to the gaming giant’s 3DS webpage, indicating that some legal action may have been taken.

But it looks like Soulja Boy will continue to invest in the gaming industry, announcing the launch of a eSports team in the new year.
