After breaking Netflix’s record as the streaming site’s most-watched original movie in its first seven days of release, “Bird Box” has inspired a whole set of memes and viral challenges.
In the thriller, a mysterious unseen presence drives people to their deaths, Sandra Bullock stars as a woman who must guide two children to safety, all while blindfolded. Looking upon the mysterious entity drives people to kill themselves or become insane evangelists who go so far as to pry open the eyes of others so they can “see.”
Following the film’s Dec. 21 release, memes immediately began popping up online as more than 45 million Netflix accounts streamed “Bird Box” in its first week of release.

As the challenge continues to gain traction, Netflix took to Twitter to issue a warning for “Bird Box” viewers to play safe.
