In a letter obtained by TMZ, Kelly’s lawyer has threatened to file a lawsuit against the network if “Surviving R. Kelly” airs as planned.
The six-part documentary features a number of women who claim to be survivors coming forward with new allegations about Kelly abusing women sexually, mentally, and physically.

According the TMZ, Kelly is claiming the women have come forward with false allegations in order to seek fame, and that he has two audio recordings that prove Lifetime was aware that “some of the girls are lying, but that the budget was too high to turn back now.”
In a statement to ET Canada on Thursday, Lifetime said, “Lifetime has been a brand that champions women’s stories. The documentary will air as scheduled, starting tonight at 9 p.m. ET/PT.”
