From reality TV to scripted dramas, Canadian TV was big in 2018.

According to industry publication Playback, “The Amazing Race Canada”, Global’s “Big Brother Canada” and “Murdoch Mysteries” were some of the year’s most-watched Canadian series. More viewers tuned in to “Big Brother Canada” in 2018, building on the show’s 2017 ratings.

Also making the list of the most-watched series is “MasterChef Canada”, the Jason Priestley comedy-drama “Private Eyes”, and the final season of “The Rick Mercer Report”.

History’s fan-favourite series “Vikings” was also a ratings winner, along with the only first-season show to make the list: the breakout hit “Frankie Drake Mysteries”.
