Macaulay Culkin settled in to watch the Golden Globes from the comfort of his own home on Sunday night, only to be surprised by a familiar face on screen.
While live-tweeting the awards ceremony, Macaulay jokingly feigned surprise when he saw his younger brother Kieran Culkin pop up on screen during the red carpet pre-show.
WARNING: Some of the tweets contain explicit language.
Kieran was nominated for Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role in a Series, Limited Series or Motion Picture Made for Television for his work on HBO’s “Succession”, a show Macaulay claimed to never have heard of.
He also teased his younger brother by pretending he didn’t even know he was nominated. “I should really answer his calls more often,” the “Home Alone” star wrote. He also directed his sibling to talk to Lady Gaga for him.
When Kieran lost out to Ben Whishaw from “A Very English Scandal”, Macaulay called the awards show “rigged,” but not because his brother didn’t win, but because he was hoping for Henry Winkler to take home the trophy for his role in “Barry”.
Macaulay eventually got bored of poking fun at his little brother and switched over to some alternative programming.
The two brothers acted alongside each other in the “Home Alone” movies, with Kieran playing Fuller McCallister, the bed-wetting cousin of Macaulay’s Kevin.
