There is a lot going on at an event the scale of the Golden Globes and E! reporter Giuliana Rancic experienced the chaos first-hand.
Rancic spoke with “Will & Grace” star Debra Messing on Sunday’s red carpet. It seems Rancic was not expecting to talk to Messing because none of her questions hit the mark.
The interviewer suggested Messing was presenting an award at the Golden Globes but the “Will & Grace” actress was not. “Are you going to see the rest of the cast?” Rancic asked. “The show wasn’t nominated,” Messing replied. “I’m here representing ‘Will & Grace’.”
It turns out Messing was not entirely correct either, as co-star Megan Mullally was in the building and presented an award alongside Kristen Bell. Messing was nominated for Best Performance in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy, but lost to Rachel Brosnahan.
“Will & Grace” has earned an outstanding 30 Golden Globes nominations over the years but the show has yet to take one home. ‘We’ve never won. So we drink,” Messing said. “Because at the Golden Globes that’s what you do, you drink… I get to sit there and relax.”
