Leslie Jones has written more jokes than she can remember.
Global‘s “Saturday Night Live” cast member recently shared an old standup bit she performed 15 to 20 years ago. Jones forgot the joke existed and it only came to her attention after someone sent her a clip.
“Okay, you guys. I’ve been doing comedy since 1987. I don’t remember all my material. Someone just sent me this, I swear I forgot I used to do this material.”
“The only thing that makes me mad about R. Kelly is [how] his songs are reflecting the charges,” the comedian said in the throwback clip. “He [is] up on rape charges and he is still writing rape songs!”
Jones, 51, became an internet sensation, thanks to her work on “SNL” starting in 2014. She has starred in the all-female “Ghostbusters” remake and had a small role in “Trainwreck”.
“Saturday Night Live” airs Saturdays at 11:30 p.m. ET/8:30 p.m. PT on Global.
