SHIELD’s Agent Coulson has been missing from the Marvel Cinematic Universe films since he died in 2012’s “Avengers” but now he’s back.
The upcoming entry in the franchise, “Captain Marvel”, is set in the ’90s, well before the events of “Avengers”, and a new trailer that aired Monday night reveals a young Agent Coulson — still portrayed by Clark Gregg with some de-aging effects — has a role in the action.
Coulson also joins a young Agent Nick Fury, played again by Samuel L. Jackson, who develops a bit of a buddy cop relationship with Brie Larson’s Carol Danvers, a.k.a. Captain Marvel.
Catch Agent Coulson’s return to the big screen when “Captain Marvel” is released March 8.
