Fox is dusting off the 2003 reality TV show “Paradise Hotel” with a few updates for 2019.
The competition series, which ran for two seasons, features sexy young singles and lots of drama as contestants battle it out to stay in a tropical paradise. While various versions of the show have been produced around the world, the rebooted series will come with a modern twist.
The new “Paradise Hotel” will invite social media users to play along and decide who stays – and who gets voted out.
“This time around, viewers using their social media feedback to influence what happens on screen is a game-changer and will keep us all on edge,” Fox Head of Alternatives President Rob Wade says in a statement. “Paradise Hotel” will be headed up by a trio of experienced female reality producers: SallyAnn Salsano (“Jersey Shore”), Becca Walker (“Love Island”), and Celia Taylor (“50 Ways to Kill Your Mammy”).
Kristin Cavallari, who is also a mother of three, has her own fashion line and a reality show, will take on another job as host.
“I’m so excited to be hosting Paradise Hotel this summer!'” Cavallari said in a statement. “This show literally has everything – dating, love triangles, alliances, competition – and I can’t wait to stir the pot and have a front-row seat to all the drama!”
She also turned to Instagram to share the happy news. “Guys! I am so excited to announce that I will be hosting #ParadiseHotel this May on FOX! This reality show has literally everything and I can’t wait for you to watch it! @paradisehotelfox,” she wrote.
“Paradise Hotel” will debut May 9 then air Mondays and Wednesday at 8pm and Thursday from 8-10pm with live elements.
