“Southern Charm” stars Thomas Ravenel and Kathryn Dennis continue their ugly custody battle with Ravenel now accusing his ex of drinking and using drugs while pregnant with their three-year-old son.
According to court documents obtained by the Blast, Ravenel states that Dennis should not be given primary custody of their two children due to her substance abuse, which he claims has caused “developmental and behavioural problems” in their kids.
The documents state that both children, daughter Kensington Calhoun, 4, and son St. Julien Rembert, 3, have required “intensive therapy.”
Ravenel says his daughter’s problems stem from a “lack of bonding during infancy” with her mother, while his son has issues as a “result of mother’s drug and alcohol consumption while [he] was in utero.”
Dennis failed a drug test in 2016 and subsequently lost custody of the children but after a stint in rehab, she has earned back 50/50 guardianship rights. Meanwhile, Ravenel is set to face trial for the alleged sexual assault of the former couple’s nanny.
Ravenel was hit with another sexual assault claim in 2018 from former “Southern Charm” star Nanny Dawn, and in October last year, Dennis filed for sole custody of their two kids. Ravenel returned in kind by filing his own case against Dennis, leading to a messy court battle.
In the new documents, 56-year-old Ravenel claims that Dennis “condoned and/or encouraged” Dawn to make “false allegations of sexual assault and to file a criminal complaint against him” to help her “gain custody of the parties’ minor children.”
He also alleges that Dennis, 26, “abuses prescription drugs, is engaged in the use of illegal drugs, and consumes alcohol in combination thereof regularly,” sometimes in front of their children. He also claims she buys, sells and trades prescription drugs with “friends, cast members, and show producers to support her prescription drug habit.”
Ravenel will not be returning to the Bravo reality show.
