Portuguese soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo is going on the defensive after a former girlfriend took to social media with shocking allegations of abuse and death threats during their relationship.
British model and one-time star of the U.K.’s “Celebrity Big Brother” Jasmine Lennard issued a tweet on Tuesday in support of Kathryn Mayorga, who is suing Ronaldo, 33, over her allegations that he raped her in a Las Vegas hotel room in 2009.
In her tweet, Lennard, 33, reached out to Mayorga, claiming to have “information that I believe will be beneficial to your case.”
Lennard, however, was just getting started. In a series of subsequent tweets, Lennard added that watching the recent Lifetime docuseries “Surviving R. Kelly” led her to reach out. She provided details of Ronaldo’s alleged behaviour during their relationship, which, she said, ended a year before the incident Mayorga alleges.
In further tweets, she described Ronaldo as a bully, adding, “No one has any idea what he is truly like… If they had half a clue they’d be horrified.”
According to Lennard, she and Ronaldo have “been communicating pretty much on a daily basis for the last year and a half and I have messages and recordings that’ll be invaluable to Kathryn and her team in showing his true nature and character how unwell he is.”
In later tweets, she shared some shocking details, writing that she has evidence of Ronaldo claiming he “psychologically bullies the s**t out of his baby mother and treats her like crap. Messages about all the times he’s cheated on her. Stories of sexual conquests that mirror Mayorga’s.”
In addition, she claimed Ronaldo has acknowledged “having SERIOUS mental health issues,” referring to him as a “bully,” “liar,” and a “f**king psychopath.”
Lennard also alleged that Ronaldo was so jealous while they were dating he would threaten to have her murdered if she dated anyone else, claiming he told her he would “have me kidnapped and have my body cut up and put in a bag and thrown in a river,” claiming to have proof of her allegations.
According to TMZ, Ronaldo, 33, vehemently denies Lennard’s allegations. Blasting her claims as “false and defamatory,” the soccer star’s lawyers are reportedly already preparing a response.
Ronaldo has also denied Mayorga’s allegations, with his lawyers stating that “what occurred in 2009 in Las Vegas was consensual in nature,” declaring that the “documents which purportedly contain statements by Mr. Ronaldo and have been reported in the media are complete fabrications.”
