In fact, fans’ love for Joe is so strong it may be affecting the way Badgley approaches the character next season.

Badgley pokes fun in a reply on Twitter when a fan suggests there are similarities between Joe and Badgley’s beloved character on “Gossip Girl”.

Continuing his crusade to stop people from romanticizing Joe, Badgley celebrated gaining 1 million Instagram followers.

He joked, “All it took was for me to start murdering people.”

Despite the character being a murderous stalker, at least one of Badgley’s fans thinks his “You” character is “not creepy” at all: “Stranger Things” star Millie Bobby Brown, who shared her unorthodox opinions in an Instagram Story video that she later deleted when fans began to question her rationale.

“So, I just started that new show ‘You’. He’s not creepy, he’s in love with her and it’s okay, so… I’m obsessed with it, I’m binge-watching it. Absolute banger,” she said, with fans reposting the video after she deleted it.

She followed that up with another post (which she likewise deleted,) writing: “By the way, I know everybody is gonna say, ‘Aw, he’s a stalker … why would you support that?’ No, like… he’s in love with her. And it’s just, like… just watch the show and don’t judge me on my opinion.”
