Steve Buscemi is mourning the death of his wife Jo Andres, who passed away at age 65.
A source close to the 61-year-old actor confirmed the sad news to ET Canada; a cause of death has not been made public.
Buscemi, known for his work in films such as “Reservoir Dogs” and the HBO series “Boardwalk Empire”, married Andres in 1987. Their only child, son Lucian, was born in 1990.
Andres was a respected performance artist, visual artist, filmmaker and choreographer, whose work included directing a video for Canadian jazz singer Diana Krall and the award-winning 1996 film “Black Kites”, which screened at the Sundance, Berlin, Toronto, London and Human Rights Watch film festivals.
“Andres was a dance consultant to the acclaimed Wooster Group,” notes her website. “She has been an artist in residence at leading universities, museums and art colonies, including Yaddo and The Rockefeller Study Center in Bellagio, Italy.”
