Cheryl Says She’s ‘Paused My Relationship Goals’ After Breakup With Liam Payne, No Plans To Start Dating Again

It’s been several months since Cheryl’s relationship with Liam Payne ended, and the “X Factor” star admits that she’s still feeling down after splitting with the One Direction singer, with whom she shares son Bear, who’ll turn 2 in March.

Speaking with the Daily Mail, the 35-year-old singer (known as Cheryl Cole prior to going by just her first name) revealed that she’s taking a break from romance at the moment.

“I wouldn’t say I’ve given up on love,” she explained. “I love, love. But I have paused my relationship goals. All is well. I’m just going with the flow, but I have no plans to meet anybody anytime soon.”

Reflecting on the split from her 25-year-old ex, Cheryl insisted there’s “no animosity whatsoever. We are learning all the time. And it’s good, it’s healthy. We’re just like any other couple that have gone through this, but we have a few more eyes watching us… Just a few.”

And despite the six months that have passed since they announced they were splitting up, she said she still experiences low periods from being alone, but has no intention of jumping back into another relationship.

“I hate the lows… I hate the low,” she added. “It’s kind of one of the things that makes us not want to get into a relationship. Nothing quite makes you feel like that, does it? Nothing else. And I know you have to take the highs with the lows, so I’m working on being OK with that, but at the moment, I just don’t need it. I don’t want it.”
