Jesy Nelson of Little Mix has angered many on social media after posting an Instagram story of herself dancing along to one of R. Kelly’s songs.
While out at Bunga Bunga in Covent Garden, London, Nelson, 27, played a clip of her and a friend enjoying a cover version of Kelly’s 2003 hit “Ignition”.
Fans are furious that she would share the clip as a recent six-part documentary has reignited the alleged abuse of Kelly, 52, towards women, some of who are believed to be underage.
The documentary claims Kelly had an “abuse cult” in both Illinois and Georgia where he would lure teenagers outside the mall and their schools.
Police in Georgia have now reached out to many women about the claims.
The clip on Nelson’s page has been deleted, but not before angry fans commented.
One fan tweeted the video with the caption: “LMAO AS IF WE NEEDED ANOTHER REASON TO CANCEL JESY NELSON.”
Another said, “Jesy Nelson what the f**k? First you film a white person saying the n word and put it on Instagram and now you are bopping along with R. Kelly after what has just happened?”
With a different user adding, “Shame on you… I’m done with you, CANCELLED. You just ruin LM’s reputation too. Bye sis.”
Since the documentary aired, Joann Kelly, daughter of R. Kelly, spoke about her estranged father on her Instagram stories saying “The same monster you all [are] confronting me about is my father. I am well aware of who and what he is. I grew up in that house.”
