Lady Gaga said an emotional goodbye to her beloved horse after accepting the award for Best Actress alongside Glenn Close at Sunday night’s Critics’ Choice Awards.
Gaga, 32, explained on Twitter that she was told just after the ceremony that her “dear angel” of a horse, Arabella, was dying and that she was rushing to say goodbye.
The musician included in her post, “She is and was a beautiful horse. Our souls and spirits were one.
“When she was in pain, so was I. I will never forget the moments we shared. Long hikes together, galloping through the canyons. Feeding her cookies.
“She will forever be a part of me. I am very sad. But I wish for your pain to end, and the gates of heaven to open for you. I love you. Girl, where do you think you’re goin?”
Gaga’s message came just after she and Close got tearful as they accepted their joint award in Los Angeles Sunday. Gaga was honoured for her role in “A Star Is Born”, while Close bagged the gong for her part in “The Wife”.
The “Born This Way” hitmaker sobbed in her speech: “I am so honoured by this.
“I went to places in my mind and in my heart that I did not know existed or that I could.”
