‘Supergirl”s Italia Ricci, On Her Silver Banshee Transformation

By ETCanada.com Staff.

Get used to seeing a whole new side of Italia Ricci.

The Canadian actress will be going from run-of-the-mill office mean girl to full-on bad guy. In next week’s episode of Supergirl, we’ll see Italia’s character, Siobhan Smythe, unveil her Silver Banshee alter-ego. And that means you can expect some screaming — serious, sonic screaming. It’s her super-power, afterall.

“It’s (done) in post,”; Italia says of the scream. “I screamed when we did the first take just to feel how my face would go if I was screaming the hardest that I could. Then I was like, “I’m gonna die if I actually do this. I’m going to start popping blood vessels,’ so every time you see me screaming, I’m not actually do anything.”;

Eventually, Supergirl fans will see Italia in full Silver Banshee mode, which requires Italia to spend a big chunk of time in hair and makeup — just under five hours in fact.

“My calls were 2:30 in the morning,”; Italia tells ET Canada“s Jake Mossop.

Soon Italia will be getting ready for a much different sort of appearance. She’ll be marrying fiancé Robbie Amell in the fall and, because he guest-stars  on The Flash as Firestorm, it will be a marriage made in comic book heaven.

“It’s going to be big and extravagant,”; Italia says of the upcoming nuptials. “I’m so giggly because I’m so excited, but I’m also so terrified because so many things could go wrong.”;
