Valentina, the fan-favourite of season nine of “RuPaul’s Drag Race” and “Drag Race All-Stars”, is opening up about gender identity in a new issue of Out magazine.
“I identify as non-binary,” Valentina says. “I don’t completely feel like a man, I don’t completely feel like a woman. I feel like a goddess. I feel like I’m my own gender.” Valentina will continue to use her/she pronouns.

Valentina is one of several “Drag Race” alumni to come out as non-binary or gender non-conforming including fellow season nine contestant Aja and season six winner Jinkx Monsoon.
Valentina’s non-binary gender identity will play a part in her next performance, Fox’s live production of the musical “Rent: Live”. Set to air on Jan. 27, Valentina will play Angel opposite Vanessa Hudgens, Tinashe and Kiersey Clemons.
“I get to bring that aspect to my Angel character and really have an idea of like, ‘Why is she so happy and so confident in her armour, in her drag?'” Valentina explains. “I do take the responsibility of being a gay non-binary drag queen person taking on a really important iconic role like Angel and I hope [audiences] tune in for it.”
