In director M. Night Shyamalan’s new thriller “Glass”, James McAvoy reprises his role from “Split”, a character with multiple murderous personalities.
Appearing on Monday’s edition of Global’s “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert”, the 39-year-old actor offered a surprising revelation: one of his “Glass” character’s 20-plus personalities is modelled on Saoirse Ronan, with whom he co-starred in the 2007 film “Atonement”, when she was just 11-years-old.
“I based one of the twins on a young Saoirse Ronan,” McAvoy told Cobert.

“Her voice was based on my memory of Saoirse’s when she was 11,” he added. “Not how she sounds now, and probably not how she sounded then, but my memory of her voice then, which was high and full of… she was sharp, and she was just full of life. She still is, actually, just to be fair!”
During the interview, McAvoy also discussed his voice role in Netflix’s new animated adaptation of “Watership Down”, and he cautioned viewers that even though the story surrounds a group of adorable rabbits, the story itself is as dark as it gets.
“You think it’s about bunnies and it’s going to be fun, but it’s basically a sort of post-apocalyptic ‘Brave New World’ with a bit of ‘Walking Dead’ thrown in there, and it’s really quite terrifying,” McAvoy explained.
