Earlier this month, the organization We Have Stories launched a GoFundMe campaign to raise funds so they can send young women from Girls Inc. LA to see the upcoming “Captain Marvel” for free.

The campaign was inspired by a tweet from star Brie Larson encouraging teachers to take the girls in their classes on field trips to see the film.

As it turns out, “Captain America” star Chris Evans saw the fundraiser and decided to make a donation and boost the campaign on social media.

“Many Girls Inc. participants are considered ‘at risk’ through no fault of their own, due to circumstances such as family poverty, gang surroundings and even homelessness,” the GoFundMe page explains. “Still, girl-based challenges affect all young girls regardless of income, ethnicity, or education. Girls Inc. of Greater Los Angeles provides hundreds of girls with life-changing support and real solutions to the unique issues they face.”
