Chris Hansen was arrested Monday after issuing bad cheques, and it looks like his problems went from bad to worse when his wife responded by filing for divorce.
The “To Catch A Predator” host, 59, turned himself over to police earlier this week after failing to pay thousands of dollars to a vendor for marketing materials. According to Fox News, Stamford Police confirmed Hansen was charged with “issuing a bad cheque.”

Hansen was released without bond and signed a PTA, which means he promises to appear in court.
According to the police, in 2017 Hansen failed to pay a vendor almost $13,000, Hansen bought 55 mugs, 288 t-shirts and 650 vinyl decals for a marketing event. Police say he gave the vendor two different bounced cheques.
After the second cheque bounced, Hansen told the business owner through email that he was selling his boat to come up with the money owed but a good cheque never arrived. Authorities then issued a warrant for Hansen’s arrest.

“Peter… I truly thought I had this covered,” he said according to the affidavit obtained by the Stamford Advocate. “I am scrambling to get it done. Please give me till the end of the day. I sold a boat to cover the rest of this and need to pick up the payment this afternoon.”
No word on when Hansen will appear in court.
Days after Hansen’s arrest, Radar Online reports that Hansen’s wife, Mary Joan, has filed for divorce, claiming in her divorce filing that the couple’s 30-year marriage “has broken down irretrievably.” She is requesting alimony and “a fair division of property and debts.”
According to Radar Online, the couple had been living apart for some time; in her divorce filing, Mary Joan’s address is in a different state as that of her husband.
