Former NFL player Michael Strahan has reached out to the Clemson University football team after they were treated to a rather unusual meal at the White House this week.

Donald Trump hit headlines once again after handing the team massive amounts of fast food during their national championship celebration on Monday night.

Strahan then insisted on paying for the football players to have a slap-up meal as he hosted Wednesday’s “Good Morning America”.

He suggested, “I would like to invite the Clemson Tigers football team here for a great meal.”

“Whoever can make it, we’ll hook you up with lobster. Whatever you want, we’re going to take care of you. We’re going to give you the proper meal that you deserve because that was one great game, a great accomplishment.”

His co-host Sara Haines then joked, “Are you paying? We don’t have a lot of money here,” to which Strahan replied, “It’s out of my pocket, I got you guys, I got it. Out of my pocket.”

“I’ll pay for it, no problem. Those guys deserve it, congratulations to Clemson.”

The comments come after Trump was mocked for his hilarious “hamberders” typo after throwing the fast food feast.

As per usual, late-night hosts including Stephen Colbert, Jimmy Kimmel and Seth Meyers were quick to mock the president following the mistake.
