Ronan Sexton, 35, the nephew of Liam Neeson, has died five years after a severe head injury.
In 2014, Sexton fell about 20 feet from a phone booth beside a pier sustaining a serious head injury.
He was 31 at the time and was enjoying a night out with friends.
From the incident, he was taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition. From there he was moved to a specialist neurological centre.
According to The Belfast Telegraph, Sexton never recovered fully from the fall.
At the time of the incident, his family released a statement saying, “Ronan is receiving wonderful treatment from the dedicated staff at Hurstwood Park,” adding that they would like to thank the public for their “love, support, prayers and good wishes for Ronan.”
Sexton has five older siblings. His mother, Bernadette, is Neeson’s sister.
Nearly 10 years ago, Neeson also lost his wife, British actress Natasha Richardson, to a head trauma accident when she was skiing and fell in Quebec.
