For the third consecutive year,Woody Allen will be opening the Cannes Film Festival, with his upcoming film Café Society slated to raise the curtain at the 69th Cannes Film Festival when it opens on May 11, reports Deadline.

This marks the first time in the famed film fest’s history that the work of one director has opened the fest three times in a row.

Café Society is described as “the story of a young man who arrives in Hollywood during the 1930s hoping to work in the film industry. There, he falls in love, and finds himself swept up in the vibrant café society that defined the spirit of the age.”;

With a cast including Kristen Stewart, Jesse Eisenberg, Blake Lively, Parker Posey, Steve Carell and Corey Stoll, Café Society will be the 12th film the acclaimed filmmaker has premiered at Cannes.
