The highly anticipated “The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part” just got even more exciting with the announced cameo of everyone’s favourite Supreme Court Justice, Ruth Bader Ginsburg.
Speaking to USA Today, director Mike Mitchell revealed that RBG’s Minifigure will be first shown in the trailer being released on Sunday (January 20). “These movies are so full of surprises. And we were thinking, ‘Who’s the last person you would think to see in a Lego film as a minifig?’ Ruth Bader Ginsburg!”
He added, “And we’re all huge fans. It made us laugh to think of having her enter this world.”
When they reached out to Ginsburg, she loved the idea.
“She said, ‘Of course, I’d love to be a Lego figure. That would be cool,'” recalls Mitchell.
Ginsburg, 85, is known for her determination, having recently had two cancerous growths from her left lung. Five days after her surgery, she returned home.
She has said she plans on being on the Supreme Court for “at least five more years.”
Since RGB will be apart of “The Lego Movie” cast, she will be immortalzed into a Minifigure that even comes “with a gavel” that “boys and girls can play with.”
Could this be the start of a new generation of inspirational judges? It very well might be.
“The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part” will be in theatres February 8.
