Migos have dropped a new track, and it’s making its debut in a commercial for soda.
On Monday, a new ad for Mountain Dew debuted, featuring the Atlanta-based rap group and their fresh tune, “Position to Win”.
In addition to Migos members Quavo, Takeoff and Offset, the ad also includes appearances from Philadelphia 76ers superstar Joel Embiid, UFC fighter Holly Holm, skateboarders Sean Malto and Mariah Duran, and 86-year-old artist Ushio Shinohara, whose unique painting style involves punching a canvas with paint-soaked boxing gloves.
“In the industry, you have to go after what you want, because no one else is going to do it for you,” said Quavo in a press release for the 30-second spot, titled “Let’s Do”, which is meant to encourage people to get off their screens and engage in real life.
“We’ve lived that mantra to get to where we are and feels like this next-level DO THE DEW speaks to that,” he added. “It’s pushing people to embrace what they love and get out there and do it.”
“DO THE DEW has been a rallying cry for decades, but now we’re pushing the boundaries of what it means to do,” said Erin Chin, Mountain Dew senior director of marketing. “It’s more than just thrill-seeking; it’s about finding a purpose and knowing that no matter who you are, you can live out that passion. Mountain Dew is not only recognizing that drive but celebrating that it feels good to do it.”
