Shawn Mendes and Niall Horan say they’re going to be working together on a musical collaboration, and fans are beside themselves.
Fans have long wanted to hear a collab between the 20-year-old Toronto native and the One Direction singer, 25, who have become good friends in recent years.
When a fan asked whether Horan would “ever give us a song with shawn,” Horan surprisingly replied.

“We’re going to try,” he wrote.

A few hours later, Mendes chimed in to confirm that not only are they going to try, “We ARE going to!”
A few hours after that, Horan agreed: “Let’s do it then,” he responded.
That was enough to send fans over the edge as they took to Twitter to share their joy at the prospect of this epic musical meeting.
However, some fans clearly recalled that this isn’t the first time these two have been making similar statemets, and that it was almost exactly one year ago that Mendes promised a collab with Horan, which never did come to fruition.
