It’s not only government workers that are out of work during the government shutdown. TLC’s reality show “90 Day Fiancé” has also had to slow down.
According to Page Six, ““The casting process is going on right now. In a sense, it’s holding up production, because, without a locked-down cast, we can’t film.”
The source added, “The stories are contingent on a good cast, so it’s harder to find available couples because it’s following people who have already been approved. The wait is longer.”
An essential part of the show is having the necessary K-1 visas for the couples. Anyone who met abroad needs the visa so they can bring their loved one over to the United States.
Without a functioning government, these visas just aren’t happening.
