Cardi B Responds To Stephen Colbert Petition That She Deliver Rebuttal To Trump’s State Of The Union Speech: ‘Why Not?’

Stephen Colbert has started a petition to have Cardi B give the State of the Union rebuttal as the drama between Donald Trump and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi continues.

Colbert, who also took a swipe at Trump and the SOTU situation on Wednesday’s “Late Show”, urged his followers to back his decision on Twitter:

Trump had previously said he was still planning to give the State of the Union address despite Democratic objections in light of the partial government shutdown.

He’s since posted:

Within the next day, Colbert’s petition caught fire, with numerous people tweeting their agreement that Cardi B should deliver the rebuttal to Trump’s SOTU address.

Also responding: no less than Cardi B herself, who said, “why not.”

Earlier, the New York rapper took a swipe at Fox 5’s Stephanie Hamill on Twitter after she asked Cardi to explain how her sexy video for “Twerk” is empowering for women.
