At a listening session at Chalice Studios in Hollywood, The Game announced that singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran has collaborated on a new song with him.
Sheeran appears on both the intro for The Game’s new album and on a track titled “Gems of Los Angeles” reports Variety.
The album Born To Rap will be released this Winter by eOne.
Other artists featured include Meek Mill, 21 Savage, Anderson.Paak, and Eric Bellinger. A secret collab is also part of the new album but will remain top secret for the time being.
In 2014, Game revealed that he and Sheeran had recorded an entire album together but only one song, “Freakshow”, was ever released.
The two met via Twitter when Sheeran tweeted about Game’s 2012 album, Jesus Piece.
Speaking to MTV, Game said he responded and they “exchanged numbers on the DM, and then we got in the studio. We were just planning to record one song; we ended up doing like seven.”
Adding, “Acoustically, he’s a genius, man, so when he does that, what comes out of me is songs like “Dreams” and “Hate It or Love It” and “My Life.””
