Drew Barrymore made her first public appearance since confirming divorce rumours on Saturday. During the launch of her new Barrymore wines, the Hollywood veteran got candid about who she’s leaning on during this tough time in her life.
Sitting down for an interview with Popsugar at the Pebble Beach Food & Wine Festival this weekend, the actress revealed that she’s turned to trusted friends for guidance as she handles her heartbreaking split from husband Will Kopelman.
And though she never references the divorce directly, Barrymore hinted at a rough patch earlier this year. “I had a really hard time a couple of months ago and kind of knew life was heading in a new direction,”; she told Popsugar. “I called someone that I really trust, respect, and believe in, because he has always been the conductor of grace. I said, “What’s your advice?’ And he said, “You put one foot in front of the other.’ I hung up the phone and I thought, “That is why I call this person.'”;

Barrymore added that the wise words were “succinct..physically productive and life-choice productive.”;
“It’s a kind of way in which to live, and I want to be like him. I want to be like that. I want to put one foot in front of the other,” Barrymore added.
After reports of a split spread online on Friday, the couple released a joint statement the following day stating that they “do not feel [the divorce] takes away from us being a family.”;
