It’s been more than a decade since the Rolling Stones have released a new album, but the wait will soon be over with news that a new album will be coming our way sometime this year.

Guitarist Ronnie Wood tells Associated Press that he and his bandmates Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and Charlie Watts have been recording original material, along with some old blues covers.

“We went in to cut some new songs, which we did,” the 68-year-old says. “But we got on a blues streak. We cut 11 blues in two days. They are extremely great cover versions of Howlin’ Wolf and “Little Walter, among other blues people. But they really sound authentic.”

No word yet on a release date, however.

The Rolling Stones recently hit the stage in Havana in their first-ever show in Cuba, performing for an audience estimated at a half-million. Watch:
