Viola Davis is rocking an amazing natural afro but this wasn’t always the case.

The “Widows” star was on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” on Tuesday and explained that she always used to wear wigs “until I did something that really stopped it for a long period of time.”

“I went to get an MRI and I put a wig on my head,” she recalled. “You don’t know that in order to keep a wig on your head you’ve got to put pins in it. And then you know when you got to get the MRI it’s magnetic.”

Seeing where the story was going, Kimmel asked, “And then the pins went where?”

“Let me tell you something, Jimmy. The fact that I’m sitting here, my dignity is intact…” Davis said. “As soon as I walked in that room that wig started floating off my head.”

The pins then started flying “like bullets,” she said. “The tech woman started ducking.”

Explaining that at her age she gets an MRI every year, Davis then educated a very clueless Kimmel about menopause.

“Menopause is hell,” she said. “Menopause is a dark hole, okay. That’s what menopause is, and that’s where I’m at right now. I either will love my husband today or kill him today.”

Asked how long menopause lasts, Davis said, “Somebody needs to tell me ’cause it’s lasted now for about six or seven years.”
