Ricky Gervais regularly has his say on social media and he’s now got people talking once again by saying “there’s never been a better time to wind people up.”
The 57-year-old posted, after wading into the ongoing Winston Churchill debate: “I really don’t understand why comedians moan about ‘outrage culture’. There’s never been a better time to wind people up.”
He later urged people not to complain about people being offended and encouraged them to ignore it or offend them some more.
Gervais’ comments come after he voiced his opinion on the Churchill spat, insisting: “If it wasn’t for Winston Churchill, I wouldn’t have the right to say really annoying things on Twitter.”
Piers Morgan and Scottish politician Ross Greer had previously come to blows on social media regarding the former British Prime Minister, with the latter calling him a “white supremacist mass murderer.”
Morgan then responded, “A thick ginger t**d who’d be spewing this filth in German if it wasn’t for Churchill.”
