Cara Delevigne is the face of Balmain Spring 2019 the brand announced.

After opening the Balmain spring 2019 show in Paris in October 2018, Olivier Rousteing hand-picked the model and actress to star in their campaign.

She is taking it all off in two risky black and white photos that were shot by Berlin-based photographer Dan Beleiu.

Speaking to WWD, Rousteing explained the thought process behind the ads, one which includes him holding his hands over Delevigne’s breasts saying it pays homage to the “iconic album covers of the Nineties, which were big pop culture moments of our childhood.”

I LOVE U

The spring campaign is a “reunion of two skin tones, one black — or mixed race — and one white. Choosing to pose naked was all about authenticity. We’re going back to basics,” adding that he wanted “something pure and transparent.”

As for the second photo where Delevigne is posing naked in front of a giant B, Rousteing said, “I love her so much that I don’t want to see any clothes on her. Her gaze is so strong and magnetic, it’s nearly an item of clothing in itself.”

This is the second time Delevinge has posed for Balmain, the first being in 2014 with Jourdan Dunn, Issa Lish, Kayla Scott, Binx Walton, Jackson Hale and Ysaunny Brito.

Delevinge is expected to continue on this partnership with the brand, and more projects are rumoured for later this year.
