Kit Harington revealed the ending of “Game of Thrones” to wife Rose Leslie but probably wishes he hadn’t.
During a Friday morning interview with Britain’s KISS Breakfast radio show, reports the Daily Mail, the 32-year-old actor told hosts Tom Green and Daisy Maskell what happened when he told his wife — and former “GoT” co-star — the fate of his character, Jon Snow.
“I told my wife last year how it ended, and she wouldn’t talk to me for about three days,” said Harington. “And she’d asked!”
Questioned about whether he’s happy with the way the show ends, Harington said he doesn’t think of it in those terms.
‘It’s a weird one to answer that, I can’t really answer whether I’m happy or not,” he explained. “I don’t think it’s about happy or sad, really. I’m satisfied with what they did but I don’t know whether I’ll be really satisfied until I see it.”
However, Harington admitted he does get a bit of a thrill from knowing a secret that everybody wants to know.
“It’s quite nice walking around, which will only happen for a few months before everyone’s seen it, knowing. I know and no one else does,” he added. “I know how it wraps up. Yeah, I think it’s gonna be groundbreaking.”
There was a big misunderstanding of this rumour. As it turned out, Harington had revealed the season 7 ending to Leslie last year — not the ending to season 8.
“I genuinely don’t know the ending [of the show],” Leslie told Entertainment Weekly. “He told me the ending of last season and I remember getting a bit uppity about that … He happened to tell me – and this is a spoiler for anybody who hasn’t seen the last season – he happened to tell me that one of the dragons fall into the ice lake, and then we see the dragon being dragged out of the water and the dragon breathes fire — or ice, I can’t quite remember which one it is, I think it’s fire — onto The Wall, and then, of course, that’s when all the [Army of the Dead] can then cross over.
“So he told me about the dragon and I got rather livid with him, because I said, ‘You weren’t supposed to tell me everything! And that’s a huge piece of information!’ And he’s like, ‘Well, you asked!’ And I was like, ‘I know.'”
During the conversation, Harington also shut down rumours — started by co-star Maisie Williams — that the cast will gather for a “Game of Thrones” wrap party at the Glastonbury Festival in June.
“She’s just made that up! Well, maybe I haven’t been invited, maybe everyone’s going to Glastonbury but me, this is the first I’ve heard of it,” he said.
“No, I’ll be calling her after this and saying, ‘What’s that about then, Glastonbury wrap party? Yeah, where’s my invite!'”
