While shopping for her baby daughter, Jessica Chastain made the unfortunate discovery of the imbalance in messaging that went along with the baby clothes.

Chastain, 41, welcomed her first child this past November and while on a shopping trip on Friday came across the gender stereotypes that she then shared on her Instagram.

The “Miss Sloane” actress posted a video of herself talking about her visit to the store where she shared a picture of what she found in the girl’s section.

Flowers, crowns, and kittens. Then she followed with a picture of the boy’s area.

The boys’ section included shirts with slogans like “Future Scientist,” “Future Inventor” and “Future Astronaut.”

To create a balance, the actress bought a collection of shirts from both sections.

She then asks “Do these stereotypes actually push girls forward?”

She added that “this is just something I guess to challenge ourselves, challenge me and say what have I grown accustomed to in our media, in our clothing, in our music.”

Chastain is an active voice when it comes to women’s equal rights including helping Octavia Spencer negotiate a salary five times what she initially asked for as well as speaking up for  Michelle Williams after it was found out that she was paid less than $1000 for a re-shoot where her co-star Mark Wahlberg was paid $1.5 million.

Wahlberg did donate the fee to Time’s Up Legal Defense Fund in Williams’ name after this was discovered.
