“The Young And The Restless” star Kristoff St. John has died.
After an initial report appeared on TMZ, USA Today received an email statement from the actor’s attorney, Mark Geragos, who also shared with ET: “Sadly we can confirm and we will have a statement later today.”
The 52-year-old actor’s body was reportedly found by a friend in his San Fernando Valley home sometime on Sunday. “Police and paramedics were alerted and responded to the house,” but St. John was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to one source, alcohol may have a played a role in his death.
Officer Rosario Cervantes of the LAPD released an additional statement: “We did respond yesterday at 2:05 p.m. on Morea Way for a possible alcohol overdose and that’s going to be a coroner’s case.”
Prior to being discovered, St. John appeared in a promotional video for CBS’ Super Bowl coverage alongside his “Young And The Restless” castmates.

St. John’s son Julian took his own life in 2014 while being treated at a mental health facility. Around the time of the anniversary of his death in 2017, St. John threatened to take his own life. He was taken into custody by authorities and underwent a 72-hour psychiatric evaluation.
On January 21, St. John retweeted a post about losing a child:
In a now-deleted tweet, St. John’s ex-wife and boxer Mia St. John placed blame on the hospital she and her ex-husband sued for negligence.
In honour of their late son, she and St. John founded the El Saber es Poder (Knowledge is Power) Foundation, an organization dedicated to battling mental illness. St. John leaves behind two daughters, Paris and Lola. He was 52.
St. John was known for playing Neil Winters in the long-running Global soap opera. Since first appearing on the show in 1991, the actor has won a Daytime Emmy and multiple NAACP Image Awards for his role.
His fiancée, Russian model Kseniya Mikhaleva, shared her disbelief on Instagram, posting a photo of the couple with a caption that reads in part: “How did it happen??? How??? Why did you leave me so early??? And left me alone…I can’t believe [this].”
Fans and fellow actors have taken to social media to mourn his loss, including Vivica A. Fox, who shared a photo of the two stars with a heartfelt caption.
