Sam Heughan is ditching his historical “Outlander” duds and stepping into the modern world of counter-terrorism for his next project.
On Tuesday, the Scottish star dished on the “secret project” he’s been filming, sharing a video from the movie’s set in Budapest.
Filming in front of a mockup of the Channel Tunnel, Heughan, 38, announces he’s on the set of “SAS: Red Notice”, an action-thriller based on the novel by Andy McNab.
“I can tell you, it’s pretty intense,” he says teasing the Sky Channel original movie.
The movie sees a band of criminals hijack the Eurostar train with 400 hostages on board, deep beneath the English Channel where they plan to detonate an explosion, ushering in an economic war on the government. Unbeknownst to the criminals, injured Special Air Service off-duty officer Tom Buckingham (Heughan) is on board the train and will stop at nothing in his attempt to thwart the terrorist attack.
Co-starring Ruby Rose, Tom Wilkinson, Andy Serkis, and Tom Hopper, “SAS: Red Notice” will air in 2020.
