Allison Janney is not happy with the Oscars and the rumoured change to their long-standing traditions — traditions that were long-held until this year’s Kevin Hart controversy, which will see the ceremony go host-less for the first time in decades.

The Actor winners from the previous year would return to the stage to present the current year’s honourees with the prestigious statue. In light of the Academy’s intentions to have bigger stars present the statues, this tradition is being done away with, omitting Janney, Sam Rockwell, Frances McDormand, and Gary Oldman from the 2019 Oscars ceremony.

In the comment section on Instagram, Janney says she’s heartbroken with the new change.

“It’s looking like they are not going to honour the tradition this year,” she wrote. “It breaks my heart.”

Janney shared the comment on a fan page for the “I, Tonya” actress, the photo looked back at her Oscar looks from years past, assuming she would be in attendance this year as per tradition.

Janney is the first of last year’s acting winners to comment on the Academy’s reported decision.

The Academy have yet to confirm the change.
