Everyone needs some shut-eye from time to time, even Michael Bolton.
The two-time Grammy winner appeared on Monday’s episode of the Australian live television program “The Morning Show” with hosts Larry Emdur and Kylie Gillies.
“As always, we’re looking forward to talking to the great man Michael Bolton, who joins us now live from Florida. Good morning and welcome back to the show,” Edmur said. “Hi Michael. It’s Kylie and Larry. We’re with you live.”
Unfortunately, Bolton had more pressing matters to attend to. His eyes seemingly started to close and Bolton was out like a light bulb. “It’s gone silent,” the “Missing You Now” singer muttered before appearing to fall asleep again.
“What time is it in Florida?” Gillies asked, trying to make sense of the situation. “Cocktail time,” Emdur teased. The hosts claimed there was a technical difficulty.
They eventually managed to get Bolton on the air. “It’s always great to me because the whole truck, the whole journey, took so long before I had success that I don’t know any way to not appreciate it,” he told the hosts.
“There were definitely different times and experiences in my life, but most of all, the fact that you’re playing [my songs] because you know there are people who have embraced them for so many years, that’s not a small deal,” Bolton continued. “That’s a big deal for me. It took me 18 years before I started having hits.”
The singer has since taken to social media to explain what happened.
