The cast and crew of “Scrubs” are looking out for one of their own.

Sam Lloyd, better known as Ted Buckland the lawyer on the medical comedy-drama, has been diagnosed with a brain tumour and inoperable lung cancer. The sad news comes weeks after Lloyd and his wife, Vanessa, welcomed their first child.

“Scrubs” producer Tom Hobert and his wife launched a GoFundMe in support of Lloyd. The campaign has raised almost $60,000 of its $100,000 goal — as of this writing — in one day.

The show’s creator Bill Lawrence, lead actor Zach Braff and Kate Micucci are among the “Scrubs” family who are supporting the 55-year-old actor.

“My pal Sam is fighting cancer. He played Ted on ‘Scrubs’. He’s an incredible person and a new dad,” Micucci wrote. “Tragic news from our beloved Sam,” Braff tweeted. “I will, of course, be getting involved. Please send him your love.”

Lloyd has been steadily working in the film and television industry since 1988. He is the nephew of “Back to the Future” star Christopher Lloyd and has appeared in “Desperate Housewives”, “Shameless”, “Bones”, “Modern Family”, “Cougar Town”, “Malcolm in the Middle”, and “The West Wing”.
