Ahead of its box office debut this weekend, Disney’s live-action re-imagining of The Jungle Book is already set to receive the sequel treatment.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the studio is in talks with Jon Favreau and Justin Marks to return for a second stint as director and writer, respectively. The move isn’t all that surprising; ahead of its North American release, The Jungle Book is already performing well, with a 100% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes and strong box office figures in other parts of the world.

The film, a re-telling of Disney’s 1967 animated feature based on the stories by Rudyard Kipling, is also the latest in a string of successful live-action reboots at the Mouse House. Following the lead of adaptations like Cinderella, Maleficent, and Alice In Wonderland, the studio will release Beauty and the Beast, starring Emma Watson, early next year. A live-action origin story based on 101 Dalmatians“s Cruella DeVil is also in the works, with Emma Stone attached to star.
