James Brown died on Christmas Day 2006 after falling but some are now casting doubt on the story.
In a new CNN report on the legendary soul singer, the doctor who signed his death certificate has raised the issue that Brown’s passing came too quickly given his illness.
“He changed too fast,” Dr. Marvin Crawford said. “He was a patient I would never have predicted would have coded… But he died that night, and I did raise that question: What went wrong in that room?”
He added that a nurse had told him there was drug residue found in Brown’s breathing tube.
“Somebody perhaps could have given him an illicit substance that led to his death,” Crawford speculated.
According to the CNN report, 11 people have told the news channel that there should be a new investigation into Brown’s death.
The report also revealed that a police informant once claimed that Brown’s wife Adrienne, who died in 1996 of an accidental overdose, was also murdered.
Adrienne had alleged that Brown raped and assaulted her and that he had threatened to have her killed.
