As anticipation builds for the eighth and final season of “Game of Thrones”, HBO is whetting fans’ appetites by releasing the first batch of photos from the upcoming season.
While the new photos don’t reveal any spoilers for the upcoming season, they do provide our first look at the various characters who promise to be at the centre of the action in the new season, including a crown-wearing Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey), her estranged brother Tyrian (Peter Dinklage), Jon Snow (Kit Harington), Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) and more.

When the show finally returns in the spring, it will have been after an exceptionally long wait; the last new episode aired way back in August 2017.
“Game of Thrones” will make its long-awaited return on Sunday, April 14; until then, take a look at the new photos for the swan-song season.
