Samuel L. Jackson is back as John Shaft and he’s bringing his family with him in the first trailer for the upcoming reboot-sequel.

New Line released the trailer for “Shaft” on Wednesday, a day after the first poster for the movie was shared on Twitter.

The sequel sees Jackson reprising his role from John Singleton’s “Shaft” (2000), and he will be joined by Jessie T. Usher, who plays his son, John Shaft Jr, who gets caught up in his father’s violent, a**-kicking investigations.

The family fun doesn’t stop there though, as Richard Roundtree, who played the original Shaft in the 1971 movie, will also feature, and “Support The Girls” star Regina Hall plays Shaft’s wife.

Alexandra Shipp, Avan Jogia, Callan Mulvey, Lauren Vélez, Matt Lauria, Robbie Jones, Titus Welliver, and Method Man also star.

The official synopsis for the film reads: “JJ, a.k.a. John Shaft Jr. (Usher), may be a cybersecurity expert with a degree from MIT but to uncover the truth behind his best friend’s untimely death, he needs an education only his dad can provide.

“Absent throughout JJ’s youth, the legendary locked-and-loaded John Shaft (Jackson) agrees to help his progeny navigate Harlem’s heroin-infested underbelly. And while JJ’s own FBI analyst’s badge may clash with his dad’s trademark leather coat, there’s no denying family. Besides, Shaft’s got an agenda of his own, and a score to settle that’s professional and personal.”
