Fans are concerned for Matthew Perry after the former “Friends” star reveals he was “kicked out of therapy” in a cryptic tweet.
The 49-year-old actor shared the worrying message with his 1.26 million Twitter followers on Wednesday, causing a flood of well wishes and tweets of support.
“I don’t know what is going on, but I hope you are alright and have people to support you,” wrote one fan. “Remember, you are a strong person with lots of family, friends and fans that are here for you! Stay strong,” said another.
One fan added: “You deserve love and happiness. You made me laugh when I was having rough times and always got me through it. You’re a brilliant, talented man and someday I believe you’ll see light in life. Addiction and depression will not rule you.”
Perry updated fans the following day, assuring he was only “kicked out” of one session and has resumed his therapy.

The “Whole Nine Yards” star has battled addiction and depression in the past, admitting in a 2016 interview with BBC Radio 2 that he couldn’t even remember some of the seasons of “Friends” he was in. “I was a little out of it at the time,” he confessed.
In 1997, at the height of the sitcom’s popularity, Perry completed a 28-day program for Vicodin addiction, and in 2001, he had a stint in rehab to recover from his addiction to drugs and alcohol.

Perry, now a big-time advocate for addiction recovery, recently spent three months in hospital following surgery for a “gastrointestinal perforation”, also known as a ruptured bowel. The actor made a quip about his hospital visit last September.
