Confirmed: Ben Affleck Will Be Star And Director Of A ‘Batman’ Standalone Film

During the Warner Bros. panel at CinemaCon in Las Vegas today, CEO Kevin Tsujihara confirmed the ever-spreading rumour that there is in fact an upcoming Batman standalone film with Ben Affleck reprising the role of the Dark Knight.

Tsujihara added that there are “at least 10″ DC films set to hit theatres in the next five years, Comic Book reports, and a new Batman is among them (which would seem a no-brainer, given the phenomenal worldwide box office receipts of Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice).

The rumours first started when Affleck said CCO of DC Entertainment, Geoff John, and he were “working on something.”;

“Geoff Johns is a brilliant guy,”; said Affleck. “He and I are working together on something and I really am excited about it, and I love him, he’s the best.”;

Affleck won’t just be fighting the forces of evil in the upcoming flick; he’ll also be behind the camera as the film’s director, confirmed by The Hollywood Reporter“s senior film writer Pamela McClintock, who issued the following tweet:
