‘MIB’ Meets ’21 Jump Street’ In Crossover, ‘Charlie’s Angels’ Reboot A Go

Sony Pictures announced their upcoming slate at Las Vegas’ CinemaCon and there’s good news for sequel fans!

The studio revealed plans for a “Men In Black”; and “21 Jump Street”; crossover movie that will pair the nation’s best-dressed alien-fighters and the undercover cop duo.  Currently titled “MIB23″, the film hasn’t officially been green-lit but the studio is eager to usher it into production.  There’s no word on whether original alien-busting stars Will Smith or Tommy Lee Jones will return, nor has the involvement of “; Jump Street”; stars Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum.

Not much else is known about “MIB23″ at this time.  The title appeared among the studio’s upcoming schedule announcement, which also includes sequels “Bad Boys III”;, “The Equalizer 2″, “Hotel Transylvania 3″, a new “Smurfs”; movie, and an update of the 1990 Kiefer Sutherland thriller, “Flatliners”;.

“Flatliners”; isn’t the only older property getting a reboot. The studio confirmed a reboot of “Charile’s Angels”; helmed by none-other than Elizabeth Banks.

The talented Banks may be well-known for her goofy on-screen performances or as haute couture fashion icon Effie Trinket in the “Hunger Games”; series, but she’s been teadily making a name for herself behind the camera. Banks directed the comedy “Pitch Perfect 2,”; which grossed over $180 million at the box office last year.

The studio also confirmed a long-awaited release for “The Girl Who Played With Fire”;, the follow-up to 2009’s “The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo”;.  David Fincher’s film was a star-making turn for Rooney Mara, earning her an Oscar nomination for Best Actress.  It is unclear whether the sequel will involve any returning talent.
