UPDATE: Thursday, April 14 (7:35 P.M. ET) – A rep on behalf of Lainie Kazan has released a statement thanking fans for the kind words following the actresses car collision.

“Lainie Kazan thanks her fans for their good wishes following an auto accident this past weekend. She is on the mend,”; the statement reads.

Lainie Kazan was rushed to hospital after getting into a car crash that may have been her fault.

As TMZ reports, the My Big Fat Greek Wedding star (who plays the know-it-all mother of Nia Vardalos’ Toula) was driving in L.A. on Saturday when her car reportedly drifted into the oncoming lane.

“We’re told her Lincoln SUV struck another vehicle head-on,”; claims TMZ. “And, of all places, the accident happened right in front of The Great Greek restaurant. For real.”;

Sources at the scene report that both Kazan and the other driver were conscious after the accident, but photos from the scene show Kazan’s neck being immobilized in a brace by EMTs.

Kazan’s condition is “unclear”; and a rep for the actress wouldn’t comment, although police tell TMZ that accident is being investigated.
